There are two constants in my creative life; photography & music.

When I first found photography it was all about the clunk and click of an old camera as you passed the film on through it, the smell of chemicals in a red room, layering images and rebate through light and time. A type of alchemy. I was 16 and living in a tiny town in North Wales and all I knew is that I wanted to find adventures and images that excited me.

Through chance I found myself in Sheffield, by day I would print other peoples images on a beautiful old De Vere 504. And at night you could find me at any number of punk and metal gigs with a couple of rolls of 3600 B&W in my camera. This led to band portraits, festivals and working for local magazines and eventually my own studio where I began to really learn the fundamental of photography ~ Light.

Moving to London was a mad rush of excitement and opportunity. All of a sudden I was working along side some incredibly talented and creative people. There was celebrities and huge studios,  big brands with their big budgets and huge long tables full of gourmet cake. By this point I was fully immersed in the digital world and also exploring moving images as well as starting to teach photography.

After 10 years of this I was feeling the call of something different. So I bought a camper van and moved to Portugal. I now live a very nomadic lifestyle and in a strange way, much like the Alchemist, I’ve come right back round to my roots, photographing people and bands as well as pursuing my own creative projects.
